Industrial Tractor with Water wash air cleaner and Petrol/Paraffin engine.
Serial No.820964
Reg. No. CWR 358
First Registered 12/11/1937
Fitted with down-swept exhaust, rear wheel weights, brake drums and handbrake suggests that this is an industrial model.
The rear wheels are the less common 24 inch as against the usual 28 inch, lowering the height of the tractor, suggesting that this may well have been supplied to an RAF specification.
The heavy Cast Iron front wheels and the shape of the wings and the footwell are thought to have been introduced to reduce the chance and extent to which the tractor might “rearup” and avoid injury to the driver.
Produced at Ford’s Dagenham plant established in 1932.
The Dagenham-built Fordson N’s were mechanically identical to those previously produced in Cork, however there was a new colour scheme of dark blue and orange, said to reflect that of the Essex farm cart!
Originally from Woodsome Hall Golf Club.
Sourced from Beaumont Park Huddersfield, May 1995.
