About

Reg. No. WFX 402, Chassis No.5082. Declared date 1944.
Gardner 6 LW, 8.37 litre, 102 BHP diesel engine.
Oscillating rear axles, fitted with full air brakes to the trailer and a recovery winch.
A 20 ton version was also available.
170 30 ton units and 289 20 ton units were manufactured before production ended in 1945.
Very very slow, routinely overtaken by bicycles – even on the flat!!!
The weight and slow speed makes gear changing tricky. Other than for selecting a low gear to set off, gear changing must not be attempted unless motion can be maintained whilst changing gear.
Unlike modern artics the trailer is an integral part of the vehicle.
This is a unique vehicle, painstakingly reconstructed in every detail over a 10 year period by the previous owner.
C/W with Russian designed BMP Armoured personnel carrier, no engine.
