Chain drive transmission from half shafts to rear wheels, with the facility to change the drive sprocket to provide the equivalent of high and low ratio. Not exactly at the press of a button, but without it climbing steep gradients when loaded could not have been achieved.
Liveried for Pickfords c/w 4 in line draw bar Scammell solid tyred trailer, 18ft x 7.5ft.
The truck brakes are manual and are only on the rear axle .
The trailer brakes are air operated by a manual valve in the lorry cab. The trailer handbrake actuator can be seen above the trailer headboard.
Rear wheel assemblies are removeable for rear loading.
