Lister JP4 Stationary Engine

40 HP @ 1200 RPM
Producing the JP range of engines was a joint venture between Lister and Ruston and Hornsby, lasting from 1929 to 1971.
The JP4’s were produced from 1931 to 1954.
Many were used to power generators for radar sets by the military.
The chromed Liskard cylinder liners were used to give extended engine life for wartime applications.
This particular engine powered an Ingersoll Rand ER1 compressor, also displayed.
Restoration in Sept 2018 including cleaning the sludge from the sump, new o rings for the liners and 40 hrs straightening the wire loops on the radiator tubes.
Acquired at the same time as the Crossley HD14 99hp single cylinder engine from Great Yarmouth, 1995.
