About

No.117484
Complete with original fuel tank, air receiver, air start compressor and flywheel baring handle, mounted on purpose built skid unit.
The engine dates from 1937, as stamped on the Air Receiver.
Sourced from a Great Yarmouth brick works where it was removed from its original working location in 1995.
Mr Green the owner provided lifting equipment, a Caterpillar 235, 40 ton excavator- It was a good job we could operate it!
The engine had been subject to several annual coats of protective grease since it was taken out of service, some of which still remains.
On a previous visit, Molly had discussed with Mr Green that we had a friend in a similar situation to himself, only one leg. Mr Green was keen to know whether our friend was a left or right amputee, had they not been the same he was going to suggest they shared a pair of slippers!
