Coalbrookdale is a village in the Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire.
In 1708, Abraham Darby used locally available coking coal to fire the blast furnace, producing a better quality iron than was previously available, a contributor to the Industrial Revolution.
The most famous use of the iron was by the Iron Master Abraham Darby III, constructing the iconic bridge at nearby Ironbridge which opened in 1781.
The foundry site closed after more than 300 years in 2017.
Recovered from Linthwaite Methodist Bowling Green.
