Model RE29 with Thompson mixer unit, date 1971.
Reg no FFD332K.
Restored in RMC colours and generally as the truckmixer fleet used by Readymix Huddersfield in the 1960’s and 70’s on such contracts as M62 Pennine Section (Scammonden Dam) and in 1969 the Emley moor transmitter mast, replacing the 1966 tubular steel structure which failed due to thawing ice.
This truck has the AEC engine and 10 speed Thorneycroft range change gearbox.
Those operated by Readymix Huddersfield were fitted wth the Albion engine and 6 speed gearbox with splitter.
The mixers of the 1950’s and 60’s had independent donkey engine with chain or direct gear drive to the mixer drum.
1 of 5 originally supplied to Dudley Readymix, from a cancelled RMC order.
Restoration by John Murphy of Huddersfield in 1988 included a replacement cab, with engine and gearbox rebuild.

Sold to Dave Francis of Oswestry in 2007. Sourced from him in 2014.
