Following a request from the organisers we attended the 75th commemoration of the events of September 1944, as depicted in the film “A Bridge Too Far”, with our 2 Scammell Pioneer vehicles.
About 240 vehicles, ranging in size from motorcycles to Sherman tanks took part in the event, which followed the 30 Corp support route from Lommel up towards Arnhem.
To take part in such an event, to be welcomed by so many of the towns and villages en route and to understand
the horrors of the campaign was a humbling experience.
